Back to the memories. I think at one point I was playing with the idea of actually showing the night of Bruce's parents murder. But as I thought more about it, it wasn't important in the overall story of Alfred and Bruce's relationship. Plus my version would have been basically the same as the Burton version. Very stylized and almost dreamlike. With 2 criminals, Jack Napier and his associate Joe Chill. Again I grew up with the Burton film so I actually like the idea of Jack Napier being the killer of Bruce's parents. I don't see what the problem is, Jack Napier is just as random as it being Joe Chill. The only problem I guess is that Jack Napier becomes The Joker. But I see the Joker and Batman relationship as pure Ying and Yang. There's the same but opposites, they're both crazy in their own ways and use their created personas as their true identity. But their reasons are totally opposite, their visual styles are opposite and all that stuff. So I think the idea of them (unintentionally) creating each other just completes it. That's just my opinion.

And just a thing, where did this idea of The Joker has no origin crap start?! I'd like to blame Nolan but I want to be fair. I mean as far back as I can remember I always knew the Joker was a guy who fell into a vat of chemicals that bleached his skin and seeing that snapped his mind. This has been a constant thing in comics since the freaking beginning, we all know this!
One aspect I particularly like about the Jack Nicholson Joker was how he was always a nasty human being who didn't so much as go insane as allowed a new creative way to open up his nastiness to the world. I'm paraphrasing from Alex Ross who described it perfectly.

Oh and Alfred's outfit here is based on how the Alfred on the show Gotham wears, I had google it since again I don't watch the show.

I do not own any of these characters, they are owned by DC Comics.

I've never seen anyone have the audacity to draw Thomas and Martha Wayne's funeral!  Nice work!
